President/Chief Executive Officer

Position Summary

Virginia Credit Union League is searching for a strategic executive to lead the association in the role of President/Chief Executive Officer. Collaborating with the Board of Directors, this executive will be responsible for achieving the overall goals and objectives compatible with the best interests of Virginia credit unions, maintaining the association’s financial health and stability, and for ensuring conformance with all applicable State and Federal laws. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership and motivational skills, be a team builder, and lead organizational change. This executive will foster and perpetuate the movement in Virginia and evince a strong passion and ability to build relationships with state legislators and credit union leaders. A Bachelors degree preferably in Business Administration or related field is required, CPA or MBA preferred. A minimum of ten years executive experience within the credit union field or retail banking industry with acute knowledge of government relations and state/federal legislative affairs.  A demonstrated track record of creating revenue streams outside the traditional dues/annual conference revenue model.
