Corpus Christi/Bishop, Texas (August 17, 2026) – The Board of Directors of Chemcel Federal Credit Union has appointed Justin Eddleton as the credit union’s next President and Chief Executive Officer. He will succeed Michael Engel, who has served as President and CEO since 2007. During Engel’s tenure, Chemcel Federal Credit Union grew from $50 million to more than $180 million in assets.

Eddleton brings more than 17 years of financial services experience and a strong record of values-driven leadership, operational excellence, and member-focused growth. Most recently, he served as Chief Lending Officer at Soarion Credit Union, where he led strategy and performance initiatives across the organization’s mortgage, consumer, and commercial lending portfolios. In that role, he expanded access to affordable lending solutions while maintaining a strong focus on risk management and regulatory compliance.

Earlier in his career, Eddleton held leadership roles at Credit Human spanning lending sales and marketing, lending operations, technology solutions, and branch management.
