Nutmeg State Federal Credit Union Announces New CFO

Rocky Hill, Connecticut (December 10, 2014) – Nutmeg State Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the selection of James Harper as the credit union’s new Chief Financial Officer.

“James is the ideal individual to serve as our new Chief Financial Officer. We believe that he will be an invaluable addition to our team,” said John Holt, President/Chief Executive Officer. “He has been a part of the credit union industry for a long time and has the knowledge and expertise to help Nutmeg continue its path of growth. We have the utmost confidence that with James as a member of our team, Nutmeg will continue to exceed the needs of our membership.”

Harper has spent the last 33 years with Sikorsky Financial Credit Union in Stratford, Connecticut and since 2004 Harper has served as the Chief Financial Officer. He has also held positions as Controller/Vice President, Director of Accounting/Assistant Treasurer, and as an Accountant.

As CFO, Harper was the chairman of the ALCO and managed an investment portfolio of over $300 million dollars. Harper was instrumental in the growth of the credit union by providing strategic direction for the development and implementation of both short and long range strategic plans that addressed the evolving needs of the credit union and its members. Harper holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Bentley College and obtained a Master’s in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University.

When asked about his new position, James said, “I am very excited for this opportunity at Nutmeg. I am looking forward to joining the team and continuing the credit union’s rich history serving the community.”
