Dade County Federal Credit Union Announces New Vice President, Internal Audit

MIAMI, FLORIDA – (April 2017) Dade County Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the selection of Adam Blanco as the credit union’s new Vice President of Internal Audit.
 
“We are excited to welcome Adam to our team. His enthusiasm is contagious and his extensive experience is exactly what we were looking for in this role. We are lucky to have him with us and think he will do great things for our credit union,” said George Joseph, President/CEO.
 
Blanco comes from Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust in Miami where he served as Vice President of Internal Audit for the last six years. Prior to that, Blanco served as Senior Auditor, Assistant Vice President for BankUnited where he, amongst other accomplishments, created an audit program to validate compliance of the bank’s loss sharing agreement with the FDIC. Blanco has also held the positions of Staff Auditor and Credit Analyst for the Commercial Bank of Florida as well as Financial Assistant at Merrill Lynch. Blanco has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration, Finance from the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business where he graduated Cum Laude.
 
When asked about his new position, Blanco stated, “The position of VP, Internal Audit represents an exciting opportunity for me. I am looking forward to joining the credit union movement and helping Dade County FCU serve the community and its members.”

Established in 1939, a group of ten Dade County employees had a dream to help others financially so they pooled together $135 in an old cigar box, signed a certificate of origination, and formed the Dade County Employees Credit Union. In 1994, the credit union became federally charted and changed the name to Dade County Federal Credit Union and has grown to over $700 million in assets.
