Altier Credit Union Announces New President

TEMPE, ARIZONA (June 4, 2015) – Altier Credit Union is pleased to announce the selection of David Skilton as the credit union’s President.

David has spent the last seven years with Altier CU as their Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, he has been responsible for a long list of accomplishments, one of which was the development and implementation of a net worth recovery strategy that helped Altier successfully navigate the hardships of the Great Recession and maintain sound financial footing and performance.

Prior to his work with Altier, David served as Vice President Finance/Chief Financial Officer for Central Willamette Community Credit Union and Executive Vice President- Finance at Houston Energy CU. He started his credit union career in 1989 with the Texas Credit Union Department. During the ten years that followed, he held the positions of Examiner, Problem Case Officer and Field Manager prior to moving to Houston Energy CU. David has a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.

Kathy Danielson, Board Chairperson stated, “David has a wealth of experience and knowledge when it comes to the credit union industry and has contributed significantly to the credit union’s current success. We have been fortunate to have him with us as CFO and have the utmost confidence that he will not only meet, but will also surpass our expectations as our new President.”

When asked about his new position, David said, “Altier has become like a family to me so to be selected for this role by a group of people that I have grown to have so much respect and admiration for is truly an honor.”
