Assistant Vice President of Finance

Position Summary
United Heritage Credit Union is in search of an Assistant Vice President of Finance who will provide hands-on leadership and management to the accounting and finance areas. This individual will report directly to the CFO and is responsible for the direction of day-to-day operations of the department including journal entries, accruals, loan loss allowances, and audit procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough working knowledge of the industry trends as it relates to compliance and regulatory matters. In addition, the Assistant Vice President of Finance should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and maintain effective working relationships with management, staff and other third parties doing business with the credit union. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, plus five to seven years in a finance or accounting role; CPA, MBA or equivalent professional designation is preferred.

United Heritage Credit Union opened its doors in 1957 as Military Federal Credit Union, offering military personnel savings and loan services. In 1969, their name changed to Bergstrom Federal Credit Union, and they expanded their service offerings and increased their overall membership base. By 1993, the Credit Union was given the opportunity to expand their membership base to include hospitals and hospital affiliates, along with select employer groups, allowing the credit union to grow into United Heritage Federal Credit Union.
