Chief Legal Counsel
Position Summary
UNIFY Financial Credit Union is seeking a talented and experienced individual to join the credit union as the Chief Legal Counsel. Working in collaboration with the CEO and the Board, this position will provide senior management with advice and counsel on a variety of legal and business strategies. This executive will primarily be responsible for managing all day-to-day legal matters which will include both strategic and tactical corporate initiatives. Oversight and responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day legal functions, vendor management, a legal recovery department which includes strategic recovery of all charge-offs, foreclosures and REOs. A JD from an accredited law school is required as well as 10 years’ experience as a practicing lawyer with a successful completion of the bar exam in Texas, California, or a state with reciprocity. Experience in Credit Unions, Banks, or a highly regulated field is also required.
