President/Chief Executive Officer
NASCUS, the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors, is in search of an engaging and experienced executive to serve as its new President/CEO. Working with NASCUS’ Joint Leadership—the Board of Directors and the Credit Union Advisory Council—the CEO will be responsible for continuing NASCUS’ growth as the national voice of the state credit union system. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. This person will meet with leaders in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia and must be able to navigate a wide spectrum of individuals and groups, including state and federal regulators, credit union executives, Boards of Directors, trade associations, trade press, and other credit union system stakeholders and the broader banking regulatory community. This individual will function as an advocate anticipating emerging issues and should be well versed in financial services, state and federal credit union legislation and regulation, and the dual charter framework. Additionally, the incoming CEO will be a savvy businessperson that can optimize results. A minimum of ten years executive experience within the credit union field is required. Advanced degree preferred.
NASCUS was formed in 1965 by state credit union regulators to promote the safety and soundness of state-chartered credit unions. NASCUS is dedicated to the defense and promotion of a vibrant state credit union charter and the autonomy of state credit union regulatory agencies. As a professional regulators’ organization, NASCUS is the advocate of state agencies that charter, regulate, and examine the nation’s state-chartered credit unions.
