Vice President of IT

Position Summary

GPO Federal Credit Union is seeking an innovative and collaborative Vice President of Information Technology to join their team. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Finance and IT, this position will be responsible for overseeing the growth, innovation, and long-term technology strategies of the credit union’s IT department. The ideal candidate will provide general management and support to the technology team, coordinate technology needs with outsourced vendors for efficacy and cost effectiveness, assist the EVP in researching, planning, and implementing new technologies to improve member access and staff efficiency. This position also contributes to the development of the credit union’s strategic plan and supports corresponding initiatives, supervising and directing daily operations of the IT department by ensuring the security of the credit union’s data and systems. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field  is required, with 10 years of IT experience in a financial institution preferred.

In 1984, to better reflect the changing membership, the credit union’s name was changed to GPO, an acronym for Government, Postal and Occupational. Today, GPO is a Community Chartered Credit Union with nine branches, over 37,000 members, and assets over $497 million.
