With D. Hilton Associates, even before the search begins, you know what your fixed costs will be. Many recruiting firms use a contingency or percentage-based fee formula, which means you don't pay for the actual work performed; you pay based on the executive's salary. In reality, there is no correlation between the two. On the other hand, some firms charge a low initial fee and bill you for all related expenses such as telephone calls, faxes, advertising and client visits.
