Position Summary
One of the nation’s premier credit union trade associations, the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA), located in St. Louis, Missouri is in search of a seasoned executive with a diverse skill set. By providing strategic direction and gaining governmental and community support, this individual will lead and continue to enable MCUA to assist credit unions throughout the state in serving more than 1.3 million members. Successful candidate will possess strong leadership, public speaking and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a wide spectrum of individuals and groups including board of directors, public officials, credit union management teams and other constituents within the credit union industry. This individual will function as a political lobbyist and will be well-versed in sales, negotiations, public relations, strategic positioning and the credit union movement.

To serve credit unions better, Missouri Credit Union Association’s (MCUA) team of professionals is based in St. Louis, Kansas City and Jefferson City. MCUA is owned by the members it serves - Missouri's credit unions. It is part of a credit union support network including both national (CUNA) and international (World Council) associations. MCUA offers a wide variety of services to its member credit unions, such as compliance, education & training, check processing (LIPC), shared branching and many other MCUA services. Missouri Credit Union Charitable Foundation, Inc. is an organization dedicated to strengthening credit unions, communities and students by supporting charitable, educational and research activities that have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local children's hospitals since the program began in 1996. Other notable achievements by MCUA is an Award of Merit, in the Wild Card category for its redesign and writing of The Missouri Difference, in addition to, MCUA Public/Legislative Affairs which received a Bronze Quill Award in 2009 from the International Association of Business Communicators’ (IABC) St. Louis Chapter.

Community Profile
Perched just below the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers, three hundred miles south of Chicago and north of Memphis, cosmopolitan St. Louis owes its vaguely European air to its history and developed cultural infrastructure. Founded in 1764, St. Louis is the largest urban area in Missouri and the 16th largest city in the United States. St. Louis is home to many institutes of higher education. Approximately 10% of the St. Louis metropolitan area consists of higher education students. St. Louis also remains a center of medicine and biotechnology. Barnes-Jewish Hospital, in conjunction with the Washington University School of Medicine, is the fifth largest in the world. In addition, the School of Medicine consistently ranks in the top five nationally. While St. Louis has embraced its deep roots as the Gateway to the West, it also has modernized into a globally known contributor in the healthcare and scientific research fields. St. Louis has seen its population increase as a direct result of the committed efforts of St. Louisans to return their city to the grand international status it was once known for dating back to the 1904 World's Fair and first Olympic Games ever held in the United States.

Compensation
A compensation package consisting of base salary, incentive and benefits will be offered to the selected candidate.

Degree Required
Ideal candidate will have a history of successfully staffing and developing teams, being active in the credit union industry, an exceptional record of financial performance in previous positions, ten plus years of senior management experience, Bachelors degree and exemplary industry credentials.
