Position Summary
GTE Federal Credit Union is seeking a dynamic President/Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership and direction related to the organizational activities of this thriving and emergent credit union. Successful candidate will have a proven track record of excellence as a CEO or key member of the executive management team of a large and multifaceted financial services organization. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide the Board of Directors with a planned vision along with a strategic plan based upon the credit union’s current and future needs. The ideal candidate will have charismatic leadership qualities with superior public relations skills to continue the excellence of service quality for which the credit union is known.

GTE Federal Credit Union was founded in 1935 and is one of the largest locally owned and operated financial institutions in Tampa, Florida. With $1.6 billion in assets, and serving its 200,00 members, GTE Federal Credit Union continually provides its members with a wide selection of products and services while incorporating the latest account security measures. In April 2008, GTE Federal Credit Union signed a contract with the city of Tampa in designating the credit union as the city’s backup data and operations center in case of a disaster or event that disrupts municipal services. The GTE Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation was formed in 2003 and contributes funds to many charitable organizations and agencies, like the American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity Marion County, and March of Dimes among others; its employees also support a number of worthy causes through donations and volunteering. Tampa, Florida is the third most populous city in Florida and is located in the Tampa Bay area which encompasses three principal cities namely Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater. Tampa’s economy is founded on a diverse base that includes tourism, agriculture, and government, just to name a few. Tampa offers many unique cultural, educational, and other entertaining experiences to its residents and visitors, such as Busch Gardens & Adventure Island, the Tampa Museum of Art, and the Florida Aquarium. Compensation
A compensation package consisting of base salary, incentive and benefits will be offered to the selected candidate.
Degree Required
Prior executive management experience required with a minimum of ten years strongly preferred together with demonstrated experience within a financial institution. Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
