Company Profile
Originally started in December 1935 as Hartford Telephone Federal Credit Union by employees of Southern New England Telephone (now AT&T), Nutmeg State Federal Credit Union (NSFCU) has expanded their scope to serve a greater number of people. Beyond opening their doors to AT&T, they also serve over 215 select employee groups, and through mergers, the employees of Stanley Works, Skinner Valve, Fenn Manufacturing, Merrow Machine, Connecticut State Grange Members, Manpoe Federal Credit Union and The Phoenix Employees Federal Credit Union. In October 2006, NSFCU changed their charter to a community based one, and opened membership up to anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school or volunteers in Hartford County, Middlesex County, or Tolland County, Connecticut. NSFCU has branches in Rocky Hill, Manchester, New Britain, East Windsor, Hartford and Glastonbury. NSFCU continues to look for ways to expand their list of convenient services and they continually provide the credit union’s 26,000 members a friendly environment in which to bank, and take pride in educating consumers as to what a credit union truly is and the advantages membership affords. NSFCU was founded on the simple premise: “Dividends in fellowship,” and seventy years later and with assets of approximately $350 million, they still strive to exceed member expectations by offering more personalized service, better loan rates, and higher yields on savings accounts. They understand that the financial world is evolving, but that doesn’t distract from their ultimate goal to become the One for Everyone.

Community Profile
Rocky Hill is a town in Hartford County, Connecticut. It was originally part of Wethersfield, the neighboring town to the north, until it was independently incorporated in 1849. Rocky Hill is a typical bedroom community as many residents commute to work in the larger urban centers of Hartford to the north and New Haven to the south. In 2003, Rocky Hill was voted the #1 Sportstown in Connecticut by Sports Illustrated for demonstrating high quality involvement in facilitating and enhancing community sports. In 2007, Rocky Hill was named #35 in Money Magazine's 'Best Places to Live Top 100', citing easy commuting to Hartford, local job availability, strong schools, and a central location between New York City and Boston. Rocky Hill’s joint venture with neighboring Wethersfield to enhance and improve the Silas Deane Highway is progressing nicely with the adoption of guidelines for a façade improvement program. Rocky Hill’s vision of the future includes preservation of historic areas and maintenance of a comfortable mix of amenities and housing choices for all age groups. It is the town’s intention to grow in such a fashion that they have a mix of both residential and commercial properties. Rocky Hill is well positioned to accommodate growth and community reinvestment without sacrificing their caring small community atmosphere.
